I just spent the last few days working with the marketing team of a well known brand (in China).
I showed them a new tool (The Power of 3) that I have developed and off they went.
There was tremendous energy and creativity in the group and they did generate some amazing ideas.
I then asked them to take their best idea and try and make it 9 times better.
Why 9?
Because they could then use my Ideas Blitz tool and it would push them to create an even bigger idea.
This is a powerful process.
Just when the team thought they had a great idea and basically were content with what they had done i asked them to venture even further — to scale another peak if you like.
After some grumbling they did all try this new approach and surprise, surprise created a concept which was even bigger than they ever imagined.
My point is this.
Sometimes what holds us back creatively is our own standards and expectations.
The late Steve Jobs used to talk about making insanely great products that put a dent in the universe.
I love the language and the ambition of his thinking.
So the next time you or your team believe you have a great set of new ideas try Blitzing the best ones and making each of them 9 times better.
You will amaze yourself where the idea might go in just a few minutes.
