How to overcome the biggest barrier to creativity

According to a recent study by brand experience agency Jack Morton, one of the biggest barriers to creativity is lack of time.

This is a real issue facing everyone in advertising, PR, sales, consulting, account management and customer service.

Increasingly clients or customers want big, new ideas and solutions — quickly (as in the same or the following day).

In the old days (when I worked in advertising for example) the client gave you a brief and after some back and forth you came back with some initial ideas or directions in a few weeks.

This is the case no longer.

In a time-poor world where clients are under pressure to deliver results the very notion of giving people weeks to generate ideas or solve problems is a old-fashion and quaint notion.

But there is a problem.

We are still using tools like brainstorming which are slow and time-consuming when ideas are needed now!

In fact, in the research by Jack Morton, some 48% of respondents nominated brainstorming as their primary source of new ideas.

So we need a new approach that can help people to create and ideas and solve problems quickly.

We need a tool they can use by themselves or with a partner or in a small group.

This is another problem with brainstorming — you need a group to do it.

Trying to get into people’s diaries is a big problem as is making sure a meeting room is available.

We also need a tool that provides new stimulus, helps users to prioritise their ideas and capture them immediately.

And that is fun and convenient to use.

Introducing Ideas Blitz.

It can do all of this and more and can complement more established tools and processes like brainstorming.

You can use Ideas Blitz everyday for all sorts of reasons.

It can potentially deliver better creativity results in a shorter time period.

With this new tool the problem of a lack of time could be a thing of the past.
